Back to Pointable

Just enough to remember.

Your seat in the room needs a little browser storage. Everything else is your choice.

Draft policies: operator details are placeholders.

Essential storage

These items keep the service you request working and record your storage choice. We don’t use them for advertising or analytics.

planner_identity

A first-party cookie that identifies your seat, permissions and votes. Set when you create or join a room, and renewed when you take an action. Lasts up to 90 days from that action. It is HttpOnly, Secure on production and SameSite=Lax. Removing it loses your seat and any host access.

planner-cookie-choice

First-party local storage that records whether you allow optional preferences. Valid for 180 days. Pointable checks its expiry when reading it and then clears expired choices and optional details. It contains a version, your choice and an expiry time; it is not a tracking identifier.

Optional preferences

Off until you choose to allow them. These details stay in this browser; they aren’t sent to an analytics service. Turning them off removes the saved copies without changing a shared room.

planner-name

Your chosen name, used to prefill the create and join forms.

planner-recent

Names and links for up to five recent rooms so you can return easily.

Demo progress

Progress in the local demo, including demo votes, questions and tickets you add.

Optional details have no separate expiry. They are removed when you withdraw permission, clear browser data, or Pointable next reads an expired 180-day choice. Your browser may also clear local storage earlier.

What we don’t use

Pointable has no analytics, advertising pixels, session recordings or third-party font requests. Fonts are hosted with the app. Hosting providers still process technical requests and may apply infrastructure security measures, as explained in our privacy notice.

Change your choice

lets you enable or disable optional preferences at any time. Rejecting them won’t prevent you from creating a room, joining, voting or exporting estimates.

You can also delete cookies and local storage through your browser settings. Deleting the identity cookie signs you out of your seat. Deleting browser data does not delete the room stored on the server.

If browser storage is blocked, optional preferences won’t be saved. Shared rooms need the essential identity cookie to recognise you.
